Cobalt Acquisition – an Important Milestone for Sky Handling Partner

These are exciting times for Sky Handling Partner as news breaks of a corporate development with the proposed acquisition of Cobalt Ground Solutions Ltd by our parent company Groupe Crit. For those who may not already know of the company, Cobalt currently provides a complete range of handling services in London Heathrow Airport. Servicing many major airlines including Air France / KLM, KLC, Delta Airlines, Etihad Airlines and Virgin Atlantic, Cobalt’s team of 830 staff manages approximately 40,000 Air Traffic Movements (ATM) each year.

The introduction of Cobalt into the Group presents us with an incredible opportunity to further develop business across Ireland and the UK. It will complement our global presence by enabling us to service a larger market as well as increasing our range of services to include activities such as de-icing, for example. It will also permit us to magnify the scale of existing activities like Ground Support Equipment (GSE) maintenance.

Perhaps most importantly though, the acquisition will provide an opportunity to operate in Terminals 3 and 4 of London Heathrow airport as well as helping to deepen and reinforce relationships with key customers on a considerably expanded basis.

In short, this deal is an important milestone in the development of our group handling business and to ensure its success it’s vital that we work together to keep focus on our existing customer base and continue to strengthen relationships for upcoming station developments and future business opportunities.
